The Cabin Sewing Studio ~

Oh.... the wonderful feeling I have in my Sewing Room on a Winter Day!
My creative brain simply explodes!
All the colors and designs of the fabrics, ribbons, threads, buttons, etc...
just provide an endless array of ideas!

I have always had a sewing room studio of some sort.
Some were inside closets in the early days others were very large.
However I still have a cozy feeling when I am working in one.
I think the sewing room I have here at the cabin is by far the coziest!.
The large fireplace is nearby and the windows are filled with views of the mountains covered in snow.

The cozy feeling comes from the things you also surround yourself with.
My Grandmother, Mother and Sisters were avid seamstresses and taught many 4-H girls how to sew.
So naturally my sewing room has many representations of things they all created.

My favorites are the dresses my mother made me when I was a little girl.

They hang as pieces of art now with cherished memories.
The many dolls my mother made me and those china head dolls I collect....
 find places throughout the
sewing studio.
My sister Melissa made the "Jennifer" doll and my Mother made the little cloth doll.
My OLD Winnie the Pooh looks on with a nice smile.
Like every seamstress you usually have more fabric than you will ever use laying around!
I do... but not to the extreme of several of my friends! Sorry girlfriends!
What I have is ribbon!
I use ribbon on everything... decorating projects, collages, greeting cards, paintings, even Max!
I store the ribbons in old candy jars, mason jars, baskets and what else works!

Baskets and small decorator luggage store all my needlepoint!
Yes ...one project per storage! LOL!
When I decorate I love using things that you normally never would think of to use.. like this catering tower!
It comes in very handy and takes up very little space.
Cake plates come in handy EVERYWHERE when I decorate!

I also collect old wooden ladders that I use for everything.
In the sewing studio one comes in handy for hanging projects that are currently under construction.
Fabric hangs waiting to be used for the next project.
I hang the ladders with decorative ribbon (of course) and use wooden hangers to hold all the projects
I am currently working on.
Quilts hang everywhere over the log railings.
Flowers can be found in every corner (Yes..I am a flower girl) along with piles of sewing books.
Yes...a little cluttered but I find that is what feeds your imagination!
If not... you follow the plan of someone else...and its doesn't represent YOU!
Check out my two Sewing Boards on Pinterest!

I hope they inspire YOU!
