Everyone is Preparing for Winter!

Hi Everyone and Happy Friday!
It's has been a very busy week up here on the mountain. Everyone including all the animals are preparing for the long winter ahead! The first of approximately ten cords of wood arrived. It was
so nice to have help this year stacking it! I learned a lot from last winter and now am storing the wood
In a snow free zone!

The deer are spending the days fattening up for their trip down the mountain soon. The babies have now lost their spots and are ready for their first journey. There is very little signs of wildlife up here in the winter except for the occasional cougar, wolf and coyote. Isn't this little guy cute?

Here is his Mother "Besty"! Besty is the deer that looks in my studio window and watches me paint!
Her winter coat is almost complete. She is now getting a little fatter from after having twins.

The Golden Sunset of Fall the other night! So orange! It was amazing! Even the deer look orange!
The hills in the distance lit up like pumpkins!

The squirrels and golden mantel chipmunks have been extremely busy preparing for winter. I think the nest below is a sign that this is going to be a tough winter! The chipmunks and squirrels have quite the
mansion here. If you look closely you can see many entries. The entire mound is covered with millions of pine cone shavings. Wouldn't you love to see their "interior design" concepts?
A new painting idea for the "Ms. Elizabeth" collection?
Note the little chipmunk sitting eating a peanut on one of the many wood piles arriving!
Have a Great Weekend Everyone!
Let's hope we have a nice long fall!
Your Atist Friend in the Wilds,
Jennifer
