Ski Cabin in Guest Bedroom

Mural Part Two ~ Ski Cabin

I was commissioned several years ago to take a guest bedroom and turn it into a ski cabin.  The room measured 22 X 24.  Two windows were at the end of the room and the ceiling design just fit to create the look of a weathered old ski cabin.
I used a selection of antiques grays, browns and whites to capture the feel of an old antique shack.
The family wanted all of their pets included.  The mural encompasses the entire room. So all the animals were placed here and there.  The sign below captures the clients welcome in German.

One of the family dogs sits on the front porch waiting for the family.  A Pygmy Owl roosts above the door and Mountain Bluebirds nest above the right window.

The basket below sits on top of an old wooden sleigh and is filled with Purple Columbine.
A Chickadee sits in between all of the flowers and watches a bee flit nearby.

A basket filled with Columbine.

A baby rabbit has hopped onto the sleigh.  The detail here can take a quite a bit of time.
However, I think that is what makes Murals so wonderful...the element of surprise.

Two chipmunks play at the front door.

A frog comes out behind a rock to see what is going on.

Baby Quail hop along the rock wall ..trying to catch up with Dad.

The family cat sits next to the shack!

A mouse also comse out to see what is going on.

The family wanted my "rocky" included.

Ms. Bunny sits on top of the rock wall.

Hello!

I love painting murals and working with clients that enjoy the freedom of expression.  Murals add so much to a room or a home...even if they are just small vignettes to large.  I love creating the theme and design.  The  implementation can take one week ...to almost four months for the one above.
If you are interested in further information and a class on how to create murals e-mail me through this site.
Have a Wonderful Day!
