Faux Rock and Clapboard Siding!

Murals Over the Years ~ Part 1

For centuries wall murals, frescoes, mosaics and panels have been a popular form of art.
Over the years I have painted many murals in private homes and in public places.
Many of my clients request murals on a wall, canvas panels or metal and even plastic. The stone above is so much fun to do. Painted with a sponge and brush on a plaster wall gives the effect of real stone and wood.
Like all murals of this kind you must understand shadow and light to get the depth.
Such as the faux logs below!

Faux Logs

Faux logs are so much fun to produce.
The logs are all created with sponge and very little brush.
At the end of the wall you will see the ends of the logs...just like real ones.
Below a client wanted faux wainscoting.  I created the color they wanted and added a real chair rail to the top giving the real dimension of depth.

A back splash story behind a bar can be created to be lots of fun. The client below wanted two chipmunks chasing each other.
Treated and then hand
painted directly on Raja tile gives a life like affect.
You want to make sure that you look at the forms and lines in the tile to create that feeling.
Such as seen in the second photo.

Many clients want themes from far away places.  The client below wanted their Hawaiian condo view placed in their home in Central Oregon.  The mural was reflected in mirrors.  It gave you the feeling of a total surround mural.

I have painted many small vignette murals in private homes to restaurants.
The vine below (not completed) in the photo was created in an entry way of a private home. The client wanted it filled with all the birds from their property and flowers.
From large murals to small...murals create unusual interest in a home.
They are a decorators delight and a conversation piece forever.
