Purple and Blue Passion Week!
I have always loved the color Purple and Blue!
I decided to "Celebrate" the colors all week in honor of my
Mother and my Birthdays!
February is truly filled with passion, purple, red and blue!
The mixed media piece is called
"Dreaming of Aspens".
I created the picture in the fall of 2016.
The old Aspen trees are everywhere in North Eastern Oregon.
Some of the sizes are amazing!
I was out sketching a group of them in a valley not far from where I live.
I discovered the shadows were creating "Magic" on all the bark and
creating interesting shades of light.
I quickly headed home and the studio was instantly filled with
paint and wild colors!
The result is below.
Its Wild, Colorful and very Abstract!
What a FUN piece to create!
I have learned as an Artist you just have to let the rules GO!
