Into the Wilderness!

The past six months have been quite the experience! 

 I was asked to paint the "History of the Forest Service" a couple of years ago.

 A friend of mine suggested I move into the wilderness of eastern Oregon and work on the project.  So last February I embarked on this "New" adventure.

I moved into a sweet log home surrounded by wildlife, five species of  pine trees and the most beautiful mountain range.

The project idea originally came from Les Joslin, a retired Us Forest Service wilderness ranger, firefighter, and staff officer.  He wrote a book titled "Uncle Sam's Cabin" which is a guide to "Historic" U.S. Forest Service Ranger Stations of the west.

Many conversations and a ton of research later the "History of the National Forest Service" art collection was developed.

My easel has been very busy the past six months creating and developing the story line onto canvas.

The project will be complete in May of 2016 and a major exhibit is in the process. 

 The exhibit location will be announced in the early spring of 2016.

Living in the wilderness has been needless to say an adventure like no other.

  Very few people live here, however those that do are interesting, fascinating and from all walks of life.

  I have learned a great deal about what it is to be self sufficient and be open to daily challenges. 

 I think when this experience is complete I will remember it as one of the most personal growth experiences of my life.
