Christmas in the “Magical Wilderness!”

I had so much fun creating these four “Magical Scene’s”!

 When you hike in the “Wilderness” in the

 winter you can come across a scene

 filled with “Glistening Snowflakes” in the air! 

Set against a rich, deep blue sky, this vibrant winter scene captures the joyful spirit of a festive gathering in the wilderness. At its heart stands a majestic evergreen tree, rendered in cool blues and crisp whites that suggest a frosted, almost otherworldly glow. Encircling the tree are warm orbs of light in shades of yellow, orange, and red, their soft radiance conveying the warmth and cheer of celebration amid the cold. Delicate snowflakes and icicles frame the background with intricate detail, enhancing the quiet magic of the season. The interplay of cool tones and glowing highlights invites viewers to experience a moment where the crispness of winter meets the sparkling excitement of holiday festivity.

The 30 x 40 acrylic celebration of color, texture, and has just the right amount of feathery fun. 

Imagine a lush bouquet of pink roses, fresh and full, tucked into a richly decorated purple and white pitcher that’s pretty much the star of the table. But wait—this isn’t just any pitcher, oh no. It’s inspired by Pink Copper Lustreware from England, giving the whole scene a royal, vintage vibe that whispers “tea party, but make it fancy.” Around it, delicate porcelain tea items clink softly: a teapot, sugar bowl, and dainty plates, all dressed up in intricate purple and pink patterns that seem to tell a story of their own.

Now, here’s where the soirée really kicks into high gear—enter the goldfinches! These cheerful yellow and black birds aren’t just sitting around looking charming. Some perch on the flowers, others on the pitcher or teapot, and one bold little fellow is even caught mid-flight, turning this still life into a lively little party that you can almost hear buzz with tiny wingbeats and soft chirps.

The tablecloth? Oh, it’s no ordinary black and white lace. It’s an elaborate white lace extravaganza that adds layers of texture and a wink of whimsy, tying all the elements together like the perfect bow on a gift. And if you look closely, you’ll find a plate of scrumptious desserts, some petite pastries, and a lemon slice casually lounging next to the sugar bowl—a touch of zest and sweetness to keep things balanced.

What sparked this joyful jamboree? A little Mother’s Day magic. I wanted to create something vibrant and full of life to honor my mom—the kind of piece that feels like a warm hug wrapped in petals and feathers.

Working on this piece was delightfully different because of the challenge of bringing together the intricately patterned lace, the elegant pink lustreware details, and those lively goldfinches—all dancing together in perfect harmony. It was like throwing a tea party where every guest brings their own style and charm!
