Back on the MARKET!!!!!!

The Heceta Lighthouse ORIGINAL Painting

 is back on the Market!!

One owner for over 25 years!

I am pleased to announce that I have been asked to find a 

HAPPY HOME for the piece.

The painting currently resides out of the State of Oregon.

 The owner would like it first and foremost to locate

 a permanent location in Oregon.

The painting has great significance to me and the collectors of the

 "Celebrating Oregon" Collection. 

I produced the series from 1984 ~ 1996.

The painting is the "Number One Seller" within the entire collection...

 with over 200,000 prints sold worldwide.

The painting also toured Japan during my art shows. 

The history of the Heceta Lighthouse to the 

State of Oregon is also significant.

The lighthouse has stood on the headlands of the Oregon coast for more than 100 years.

In 1978 it was included on the National Register of Historic Places.

Heceta Head was named for Don Bruno de Heceta , 

a Portuguese Explorer.

The history is vast and for many citizens of the Pacific Northwest.. .

 a true representation of  the "Beauty of Our Great State"!

I am asking ALL Oregonians to help assist me...

 in locating a permanent home!

The painting measures 30 X 40 and is framed.

The painting is painted on Belgium Linen Canvas.

Let's cross our fingers that is goes somewhere so ALL 

"Citizens of Oregon" can enjoy it FOREVER!

Summer Breezes Make Me Feel Fine!

Spring ahead "Special Print of the Day"!

Sitting here looking out over the snow...I find myself daydreaming!

 

My mind wanders to my "Secret Place" on the Oregon, Coast.

The ocean beaches are right outside your door.

The smell of the summer hydrangea, daisies and

 blackberries fill the air!.

The ocean breezes make kites out of the seagulls and 

create sounds of peace.

Oh how my mind can wander!

I spend hours on the beach collecting driftwood and shells. 

Always thinking..... when I return I will create the Pinterest project I saw.

It never happens.

The endless hours of the sounds of the waves, winds, and birds make you realize how soothing it all is.

But....here I sit in the snow.

Not that I hate winter! 

I have discovered I miss the colors!

The ocean has so many rich hues and those gorgeous sunsets!

I know some of you are daydreaming!

Its looking like SPRING!!!

Well, at least in all my stores!

The framed print below was purchased by a client from 

Redmond, Oregon.

I just love the sage mat and green frame!

She originally purchased a small "Spring Ahead" Sale Print 

but changed her mine and ordered a larger one!

The High Desert Storm print was purchased by a client from

 Spokane, Washington!

One of my favorites from the "Flowers of My Life" collection.

The detail of the meadow was so similar to my needlepoint work!

I like the frame selection here also.

A Spring Duvet cover was sold to a client in Helena, Montana.

The image is called "Memories of Spring".

I like the faded crocuses....it gives you a feel of peace.

They also purchased matching pillows as shown below.

They selected the "Lavender Blue Crocus" print for above the bed 

and framed it in a blue metal frame.
The entire look is refreshing!

One of my favorite flowers and photos sold again this week to a client

in

 Joseph, Oregon.

The flower called Camas is my favorite because of its rich history with the

 Native Americans and for its stature and color!

Read up on this plant...what a great story!

Japanese Satsuma Vase!

Spring Ahead...Print Special of the DAY!

Spring ahead into 2018 with the "Print Special" of the day!

"The Japanese Satsuma Vase"

The painting was part of the "Flowers of My Life" ~

 30th Anniversary Show.

The painting represented the years I did one woman shows in Japan.

The tours were sponsored by Gallery International, Mitsukoshi Department Stores, Fuji Television,

 Oregon Economic Development Department, Azumano Travel , 

and Delta Airlines from 1992-1995.

What an experience it was!

The vase I hand painted is a Satsuma vase by Yabu Meizan.

It is an earlier style and has three separate realistically painted landscapes of Lake Biwa.

I used gold as highlights. The gold was used in the enameling process.

"Zumwalt Prairie"

The painting is of the Zumwalt Prairie and the 

Wallowa Mountains of North Eastern Oregon.

The prairie encompasses 330,000 acres and 4,400 acres is a 

designated National Natural Landmark. 

The Chief Joseph band of the Nez Perce 

were the original human inhabitants of the prairie.

They used the land for hunting and gathering in the spring and fall.

The Nez Perce were forced out of the area in the 1870's when 

President Ulysses S. Grant officially opened the Wallowa County to white settlers.

Nothing says Spring like Pansies! 

The name "pansy" is derived from the French word pensee', "thought", and was imported into Middle English as a name of Viola in the mid-15th century.  The flower was regarded as a symbol of remembrance.
 The name "love in idleness" was meant to imply the  image of a lover who has little or know other employment than to think of his beloved!

The history of the pansy is worth the read in Wikipedia.

I ended up spending two hours researching the stories of great loves, loss and tragedy!

Here I just like the tiny little flower...

and now to discover its complex history!

I remember my Mother would bring pansies and violets into the house in the spring!

The colors of yellow and purple were such a delight in the middle of the long winters in Michigan.

They really gave you hope that Spring would be arriving soon.

On Valentines Day my parents would give each of us a plant!

I loved that tradition and carried it through raising my son.

My homes are always filled with blooms in the dead of winter.
