My Customer's Favorite Things!

It is Monday Evening and time to reflect on the past weeks accomplishments.
I am reviewing what my clients like and have purchased this past week.
What a week it was! I am thrilled that my imagination has gone wild and explored new ideas in the arts!
I am truly over joyed that customers are enjoying my new ideas! Here are just a few....
A client in Los Angeles purchased the following "Snow" images from the
"Jennifer Lake Fine Art America Store".
The mat color and frame they selected for "Purple Mountain Majesty" works so well together.
I would like to see the office they are hanging it in!
Hopefully they will share photos.

The silver brush frame below adds to the contemporary feeling of the image.
The photograph is called "Moon Lit Slopes".
All of these snow images belong in the collection called
 "The Shapes of Snow".
I created the series last winter. Some of the photos were taken at night under the full moon.
I became fascinated by the shapes, forms and colors that were produced.
The last image is called "Snow Ice".
The snow created these amazing light particles under the moon.
The more you zoomed in the more intricate the patterns became and intense color.
Just a few of the items that were collected by clients the past week.
Have a Great Monday Evening,
Your Artist Friend in the Wilds,

Northern Exposure Television Show Memorabilia

How many of you remember the Television Show "Northern Exposure"?
A television icon in the nineties it still has a strong following today!
The series was filmed in Roslyn, Washington throughout several years.
I was commissioned to paint the set for Pipeline Productions
(they assisted with the development of the series) in 1992.
The painting was developed into open edition prints and sold over 15,000 copies and 550 Limited Editions. The painting went on to become a "Favorite" amongest my collectors.
If you look closely you can see all the actors and actresses.
I am in the painting hiding and NOT painting at my easel.
Can you find me? My son Easton can be seen in the cut out of the Moose head in front of KROS.
During this period of my art career I was completing over 28 one woman gallery shows
throughout the US, Canada and Japan.
I was very fortunate to have my son travel with me. What an education he had.
I am now placing the original painting up for sale.
Why you ask...well A NEW ADVENTURE has just arrived onto my door step...
Its called "Art Adventure Investment Money"
The painting measures 30 X 40 and painted with acrylic paint.
The painting is framed and is in pristine condition.
Please contact me direct for further information.

Happy Birthday National Parks!

Happy Birthday to our Great National Parks!

The National Park Service celebrates its 100th birthday on August 25.
The first national parks, including Yellowstone and Yosemite, preceded the Park Service itself. The 1916 law creating the Park Service stated that the "fundamental purpose" of national parks "the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations."

Happy Birthday to Crater Lake!
Crater Lake National Park is located in the beautiful State of Oregon! In 1990 I was commissioned to paint the Great Lodge at Crater Lake. The prints were used as a fund raiser for the renovation of the historic lodge. Originally opened in 1915, the historic Crater Lake Lodge welcomes you with a boldly stated fireplace in the Great Hall. Following extensive renovations in 1995, the lodge also offers an atmosphere reminiscent of the 1920s and immerses visitors in its rustic charm.
The lodge was the first lodge in the United States designed for the automobile. Henry Ford himself assisted in the design of all the roads leading to the lodge.
If you look closely you can see me painting the painting on the lower left of the canvas. The symbol became the logo for the entire "Celebrating Oregon" series. The painting traveled all over the Pacific Northwest and was featured on my tours throughout Japan. The print has now sold over 50,000 copies world wide. A percentage of monies raised from the print assisted in the replacement and reconstruction of the stone work. I guess you can say my artwork helped preserve a portion of the lodge foundation for future generations.
Let's all Celebrate our National Parks Birthday!
In honor of Crater Lakes history...I am running a birthday promotion of the print for the next few days.
Here is the link: http://fineartamerica.com/weeklypromotion.html?promotionid=199435 - Buy a 24.00 x 20.00 stretched canvas print of Jennifer Lake's Crater Lake National Park for $125.00. Only 25 prints remaining. Offer expires on 08/30/2016.

Customer's Favorite Things!

Happy Sunday Everyone!
I always enjoy Sunday's when I check for updates in my Fine Art America Store.
I have the opportunity to see what my customers are buying, liking, and framing.
Here are a few images from this week.
"The Old Aspen Grove" sold to a client in Colorado. The original painting sold to a family in Oregon
several years ago. A little chipmunk sits in the center of the painting welcoming you to his forest.
All the flowers are native species and you can find me painting at my easel as a mouse.
The print is going to be hung in their cabin.
They also ordered "They said it Wouldn't Snow" print.
The original painting measured five feet by seven feet and was sold to a client in Virginia. The painting depicts woodland animals gathering for a birthday party however they have lost the cake in the snow.

"They Said it Wouldn't Snow"

The little bunny below is a "pullout" from the above painting. I like how this client framed the
piece. They are from Montana. I hope it will bring smiles for them throughout the long winter.
Starting next week I will unveil the 2016 Christmas & Holiday Collections each day!
All the products were fun to create and develop. I can't wait to hear your comments.
Thank you all for making my art career a true joy!
Have a Great Evening!

You're the Apple of My Eye!

Oh Where... Oh Where... did the Summer Go??
I cannot believe we are talking about school, fall, and Halloween already!
That being said, the "Fall Season" is my favorite of all. The leaves changing, pumpkins, cooking ,hiking, and  the cool crisp air. I enjoy going to Kimberly, Oregon to pick apples and traveling to Hood River for a fall weekend. I return home and the house turns into a cooking factory. The house becomes filled with the smells of cinnamon, apples cooking, and pies in the oven.
I created several small paintings of apples just for the "Fall Season".
The first is a tiny abstract painting called "Two Apples". The painting only measures 2" X 2".
"Two Apples"
The second painting is called "Yellow Bowl of Apples". The painting is small and measures only 11 X 14 inches. I have owned the yellow bowl for years and found the red, yellow and blue colors working all
together in a seasonal way. The lace table runner is filled with an intricate design. It just says "Apple Pie"
"Yellow Bowl of Apples"

The third painting is super TINY! It measures only 2 x 3 inches!
The painting is called "Apples and Sunflowers". Painting the miniature lace was a challenge because when you paint this small you have to keep everything in scale. I also painted on a large weave canvas so the texture shows through. Miniature painting is interesting and provides the artist a totally different perspective.
I normally paint on canvases that are four to six feet wide!!

I created several products from the three paintings. The theme of course celebrates the "Fall Season"!
The collection includes clothing for children utilizing the theme "Smart Kid Look Out"! The lime green toddler blouse would be adorable paired with red or blue leggings! My favorite product of all is the Apple themed Mason Jars! I bought all three designs for my table for Labor Day. I am going to fill them with sunflowers. The table runners are a quick way to add the new season to your home!

Look what MY Collectors have been Framing!

Happy Afternoon Everyone,

Several collectors over the past month sent me photographs of their framed prints. It always amazes me the variety of frames and mats available to everyone today! You can literally take a piece of art and
give it a completely different story! What fun for the collector and me when I get to see the results!
The picture below is called: "Dreaming Aspens". I created the original piece by using mixed media...photography....acrylic paint and fabric. Doesn't it look like a dream?
The client did not share where they are hanging this piece. I love the frame color and the mat combination.
The next framed piece was purchased by a Boise, Idaho client for their corporate office. The frame is at least three 1/2 inches wide and is beveled. I love the contrast of the cream mat underneath. They also ordered note cards for a corporate party they are having in the fall. The print is called: "Mountain Fall". The photograph is of one of the many mountain ranges in North Eastern Oregon. The range in this photograph is called the "Elk Horn Range". I had more fun creating the "fall" colors here.

I was so pleased to see this piece that a client from Salem, Oregon had framed. When they sent me the photo I asked them if they knew where the "Secret Garden" was?  They said no, however they thought the gate looked familiar. How many of you can guess where this is?  It is the "Secret Garden" at Belknap Springs. I took a photograph originally and then transferred it to canvas. Using acrylic paint and interesting papers I came up with the final result! I really like the frame they selected for a real contemporary look. The piece will hang in their sons architectural firm in Portland.
It is always a joy for me personally to see and meet the people that collect my art. Keep the photo's coming...I just love them!
I hope you all have a wonderful evening.

Jennifer Lake
